Does exactly what it says, it was nice to find some old podcasts from 2009 that somehow have never been deleted. Now I have 50GB more space than I did 20 minutes ago! Keep up the good work. Well worth the money!

Seriously well done software. Love it!
While there are several free alternatives out there I think the price is more than acceptable for such a perfectly laid out interface. This is the best way to navigate file trees on a mac, period.
I never write reviews, but I was using DaisyDisk today (I’ve had it for a few years), and thought, “This is a truly awesome app that deserves praise.” And it is, and it does. If your disk is mostly full, DaisyDisk is the simplest way to look at what’s actually taking up space. No more trashing caches to hope you get some space back or checking the size of every folder by hand. Scan your whole hard drive (or external!) and you get a beautiful, intuitively interactive visualization of what’s in your space. Roll over to get details, click to zoom in, and drag and drop to collect files. Pitch what’s useless and take control of your hard drive again. DaisyDisk does exactly what it should; no more and no less. There’s no learning curve, takes up almost no space (2.7 MB, as it can tell you), and is so pretty and smooth that it will make you smile. Few applications work so well. Heartily recommended.
One of the very cool tools that actually lets you “see” how space is allocated as you drill down, or up for that matter. I was able to free up some much needed space quickly, after I had confirmed that I could delete excess IPHONE Backups in ITUNES. The Collect Bucket is an interesting idea, but leads to permanent deletion of a file you drag to it. Recommend that this puts the file in TRASH not permanent delete. Suggest one avoid use of this feature when exploring what is excess and what is data. Reveal the file in Finder and Put it into trash. My other suggestion is based on not knowing what Directories and Files purposes are. It would be nice if a menu item would allow a search of MAC Forums, MAC ONLINE Support, even the Internet as a whole to more quickly assist in the determination if a file can be deleted. (As long as this doesn’t create some security vulnerability.) IMHO - These two suggestions would bump it from a very good 4 to a 5 in my book. Current State: Great Value for $10!
This is the first product that has effectively cleared 50+gb off my hard drive extrememly easily, super user friendly!!!
My friend told me about this product since my disc space was being eaten up by things I don’t use, so I decided to give it a try, and WOW! It is so easy! I would recomend this for anybody who has trouble finding the things they need to delete without having to do endless searches, not really knowing whats what. This program shows you exactly what you’re looking at, and wether you want it gone or not. It even has a count down to give you that second chance. GET IT!!!
First, for storage management, this app is fantastic. But since the last update, the preference box is too small. You can’t make it bigger, and so you don’t have access to preferences.
Anyone with a laptop knows the pain of running out of disk space. You get the dreaded alert when trying to download a file or update an app, but you have know idea where all your space is being used. DaiskyDisk makes this process painless. I don’t know how I ever lived without it. ~ @jaredsinclair
Well, i used to like this app until the last update. Now the preference window is so small and can’t be changed. I’m not able to see any preferences it the window. Also, the black background with dark blue and white print is too difficult to read. This absolutely needs to be changed or I will have to Delete this app.
Not only does DaisyDisk have a smooth, georgeous UI with the best looking sunburst charts ever created, but also a level of utility that is equally impressive. It is the perfect tool for quickly identifying what’s taking up all the space on your hard drive, starting from a macro view and drilling all the way down to individual files. I’ve been using DaisyDisk for years, on all my Macs, and it keeps getting better.
AND great customer service. Got answers to my questions very quickly. You can test drive the app before you buy if you are hesitant. see their website for the demo. This is something ALL developers should do to help customers decide. lindy
This app saved me from spending $100 on a portable hard drive. I don’t know what it is about their visual display but it makes it very easy to identify the various datasets clogging your on-board drive. I have a MacBook Air and relative to a desktop PC, space is thin. This is an excellent tool. Highly recommend before you buy a portable hd or even a quality thumb drive. You will recover gigs and gigs of space which is certainly worth the price of this app.
The way the data is presented is, quite simply, jaw-dropping brilliant. I can see everything, all at once, with a very clear understanding of how files are related to their subfolders. And it works with internal and external drives. I was able to use it to get rid of 6 GB of forgotten junk on a USB flash stick, and it helps me see what’s going on in my MacBook Air. That said, it has basically two functions: (1) showing you the contents of drives and folders and (2) deleting things. In my opinion, that’s not enough to justify a $10 price. $5 is more reasonable. Because of the security restrictions imposed on Mac App Store apps, this version can’t find a lot of the trickier hidden stuff. The separate version, downloaded from the website, can. If you purchase this version, the other version will automatically detect your App Store purchase receipt and unlock itself.
I’m very surprise. Finally an application that does what it say in description an much more. I purchase a new hard drive for my macbook because i was running out of space quickly making movies, taking pictures, etc. and After replacing my hard drive to a 1TB I found out that many of the files i was having problems with where “others” stuff in my mac beside the movies and pictures. Well, after a research i new about DaisyDisk would help, but i was not to sure about it. Well, I’m glad i got it. I go in this app and shows me where everything is at, you can even go streight to the folder and look to see what it is in there, also delete the files directly from daisy, and if you try to delete important files from IO X this application even give you a working and don’t allow you to delete them. Im very happy with it. I’m sure you would too. Thanks to the developer.
With this little great tool, I freed more than 30 GB of space in my crammed macbook
I love playing video games. I have a custom Desktop PC built for it. However, games are large and can overtake a hard drive with only a few games. I downloaded 6-7 games and basically left no room for work and school on my MBP. I realized that I needed to make some space, and with this application, I was able to save 50GB without any effort. I couldn’t play those games well anyway because they require a dedicated GPU and not onboard graphics. After that, I was able to junk another 25GB of data I was just hauling around. I’d buy it again for how much it has saved me on external HDs
I really love the interface used to break down all your data and how you can drill down into the different sections. For example, on my Mac I can click on the section for iTunes and then drill down into the different media categories, such as music, TV shows, and movies. Then it can list all the movies by size and I can see which are taking up the most space. I basically have my 512GB hard drive filled most of the time so this app allows me to see what I have and then see where I can clear up space. Awesome app!
Excellent app, and I’m the type of guy who uses the command line for (almost) everything. Don’t let it’s beautiful UI fool you, there is lots of power and insight into what’s eating your precious disk space. Three cheers for Daisy Disk.
If is wasnt a little scepital, like if my freind told and showed me on his mac, I WOULD HAVE BOUGHT THIS FOR $30.00+. I am amazed on your guys un-popularity. THANK YOU, I do Youtube and Movies I had posted and deleted took up 49+ GB, and backup ones i didnt need was like 19+. THANK YOU I AM $990 in debt to you! I WAS GONNA GET A NEW MAC! :D
